Sonrise Roofing is a family roofing company on Von Euw Common in Fremont's Centerville district, roofing the East Bay and South Bay since 1986. The logo says "Specializing in Quality," and that has been the whole idea from the start: do the tear-off right, put the flashings in so they last, and leave the yard cleaner than we found it.
Meet Adeline Farrer
President, Sonrise Roofing
Adeline and Adam's father built Sonrise Roofing into a company that served Fremont and the surrounding cities for a generation of homeowners. Roofing was not only his business, it was the family's way of life: the trucks in the driveway, the phone ringing at dinner when a storm came through, the shingle samples on the kitchen table. Adeline grew up in it.
About two years ago her father retired. With his blessing, she set out to continue what he started, under the same name, with the same phone number and the same standard of work. Today she is the one who answers when you call (510) 791-6457, the one who climbs the ladder at your house anywhere in the Bay Area, and the one who signs the estimate. There is no sales department between you and the person responsible for your roof.
Adam, Lead Roofer
Adeline's brother Adam leads the crew on the roof. He started roofing at 18, learning the trade on the job from their father, and he has been at it for 28 years since. There is not much a roof can do that he has not already seen and fixed, and it does not matter what town it sits in. We roof anywhere.
He works fast without cutting corners, keeps the crew moving so a tear-off does not sit open longer than it has to, and he is easy to get ahold of. If you have a question while the job is running, you ask Adam and you get a straight answer that day.

The Stone-Coated Difference
Ask Adeline what makes Sonrise different from the other roofing companies in the East Bay and she will point at the pipes on the roof. Most roofers paint them. The paint can begin to wear off within the first year, and after that the bare metal at the base of the flashing takes every storm from November to March. That base is where the metal has its imperfections and where leaks most often begin.
On a Sonrise roof, the flashings, vents and valleys are stone coated. The process bonds a stone finish to the metal in a color matched to the shingle. It resists rust, it is designed not to chip, peel or fade, it needs no repainting, and it helps waterproof and protect the flashing base where leaks are most likely to start. The finish comes from California Stone Coating, a Bay Area manufacturer that specializes in this finish. Getting that finish onto more Bay Area roofs is one of the main reasons Adeline took the roofing company forward. It is not an add-on we sell at the end of the job.
